IN CASE YOU MISSED OUR WEEKLY BUSINESS FORWARD UPDATE LAST WEEK, HERE IS A GENTLE REMINDER OF THE GOVERNMENT’S ANNOUNCEMENT THAT THE FURLOUGH SCHEME WILL CHANGE AND 10 JUNE IS A KEY DATE.
Employer contributions and flexible working will come into effect. However, the scheme will close to new entrants on 30 June and from this point onward employers will only be able to furlough employees that they have furloughed for a full 3 week period prior to 30 June.
This means that the final date by which an employer can furlough an employee for the first time will be 10 June, in order for the current minimum three-week furlough period to be completed by 30 June..
SELF EMPLOYED
For the self-employed eligible and claiming the Self-Employed Income Support Scheme (SEISS), you have to claim the first grant on or before 13 July 2020, as the second grant application will go live in August.
